A Celebration Of Harry Potter & Harry Potter Book Night!

January has seen two celebrations in the Wizarding World! Last weekend A Celebration Of Harry Potter was took place at Universal Orlando. Fans got the chance to preview new content coming to the Wizarding World this year, such as Harry Potter: Hogwarts Mystery

On February 1st, we celebrated Harry Potter Book Night! The theme was Fantastic Beasts, and to celebrate, Pottermore published a quiz for you to test your knowledge of the magical creatures that inhabit the Wizarding World.

At J.K. Rowling's Wizarding World Of Harry Potter Club, we're extending the celebration of the Wizarding World all this month, and you can head over to our Pinterest page where we will be posting some of our ideas for a magical celebration. We had also planned to post a video to celebrate 20 Years Of Harry Potter Magic, containing the BBC documentary, A History Of Magic, but due to copyright we were unfortunately unable to do so. We'll also be posting our Wizarding World Trivia quiz soon, the ultimate Harry Potter and Fantastic Beasts trivia challenge!

2017: A Magical Year - 2018: More Magic To Come!

Happy New Year from J.K. Rowling's Wizarding World Of Harry Potter Club! Much has happened in the Wizarding World this year, and we can certainly look forward to more magic on its way!

The next movie in the Fantastic Beasts series has been announced, Fantastic Beasts: Crimes Of Grindlewald. The film will be released in November, 2018, featuring Newt Scamander, Porpentina Goldstein, Queenie Goldstein, and Jacob Kowalski; as well as some new characters and familiar faces. Both Albus Dumbledore and Gellert Grindlewald will play an important role in this new story taking place in Paris.

Pay special attention to the clouds toward the end of this first look - observant eyes may spot a familiar rune!

Also new this year, Harry Potter And The Cursed Child is coming to Broadway! Now American fans will have the chance to see the eighth story live on stage in New York City.

2017 marks the 20th anniversary of the U.K. release of Harry Potter And The Philosopher's Stone, and to celebrate 20 years of Harry Potter, the British Library in London hosted the exhibit, Harry Potter: A History Of Magic. The exhibit featured magical artifacts spanning thousands of years of wizarding history. A book highlighting the exhibition was published, Harry Potter: A Journey Through The History Of Magic. The book features bits of magical history and notes in J.K. Rowling's own handwriting. Harry Potter: A History Of Magic Film - BBC Two

Along with the History Of Magic, two more new books were published. Both illustrated editions of Harry Potter And The Prisoner Of Azkaban and Fantastic Beasts & Where To Find Them.

Last but definitely not least, Pottermore has released and will be releasing a set new digital magical experiences. You can tour the exterior of Hogwarts castle at pottermore.com/hogwarts, and soon we'll be able to go to Hogwarts ourselves in Pottermore's Portkey Games new mobile apps coming out some time this year, Harry Potter: Wizards Unite and Harry Potter: Hogwarts Mystery!
